Collection Routes
HOUSEHOLD WASTE: Collected on your assigned trash day.
BULK ITEMS: Will be picked up on your trash day, i.e. furniture, box springs, railroad ties, doors etc. NO CONTRACTOR DEBRIS ACCEPTED. *Please note that if you are doing any large renovations yourself and will have a lot of debris you should call Public Works at (856) 547-1240 to see if special arrangements need to be made.
APPLIANCES: Household appliances (containing FREON) i.e. room air conditioners, refrigerators, will be picked up on your assigned trash day.
METAL ITEMS: Will be picked up on your trash day, by a separate truck.
CONCRETE: Picked up by APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please call 856-547-1240 No contractor debris will be picked up
RECYCLING: Glass, Plastic and Metal containers are picked up the same day as your trash. PLEASE REMEMBER: No paint cans, aerosol containers or ceramic materials among the recyclables. Wash as clean as possible removing all lids and caps. ALL RECYCLABLES CAN BE MIXED IN YOUR NEW RECYCLE BUCKET. Remember: only #1 and #2 Plastics are acceptable, i.e.: Milk Cartons, Liter Soda, Liquid Detergent, etc. NOT ACCEPTABLE i.e. Frozen food containers, Plastic Tumblers, Yogurt containers etc.
NEWSPAPERS:All contents of newspapers including glossy inserts, magazines, catalogs, envelopes, junk mail, school papers, work books, textbooks (without hard covers) office paper will be collected with RECYCLE ITEMS on your regular trash day. Will be collected on alternate Fridays. NO FOOD BOXES i.e. (Pizza cereal or laundry boxes.) Please BUNDLE AND TIE, OR PLACE IN PAPER BAGS, AT CURB SIDE.
BRUSH & SMALL WOOD: may either be loose in cans (Absolutely no plastic bags will be accepted) or tied in bundles of not more than 50 lbs. or 4 feet in length will be picked up. Please place at curbside loose or tied, on your trash day. PRIVATE CONTRACTORS performing Tree or Landscaping work are required to remove ALL DEBRIS.
LEAF COLLECTION: our Public works Department will handle Leaf collection. Leaf collection beings in October-please refer to Comcast Cable channel 19 for updates.
GRASS: In OPEN CONTAINERS at curbside on your trash day. NO PLASTIC TRASH BAGS - DO NOT MIX any items with grass. Collection season is April through September. NOT AVAILABLE TO LANDSCAPE CONTRACTORS
CHRISTMAN TREES: Place at curbside on your trash day.
USED MOTOR OIL: Bring to Borough Garage, 251 West Nicholson Road, any weekday from 7AM to 2:30PM MOTOR OIL ONLY - WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY OTHER PRODUCT OR BY-PRODUCT.
HOUSEHOLD BATTERIES: may be disposed of with your regular trash. RECHARGABLE BATTERIES: may be dropped off at the Borough Complex (2nd floor), Library, Senior Center and at the Garage. This is a County sponsored program. CAR BATTERIES ARE HAZARDOUS WASTE
CONTAINERS: Plastic or metal trash containers. NO LARGER THAN 32 GALLON. WEIGHTING NO MORE THAN 50 LBS. Watertight heavy-duty plastic trash bags are also acceptable. DO NOT USE THE SPECIAL RECYCLING CONTAINERS FOR TRASH.
COLLECTION TIME: PLEASE PLACE HOSEHOLD WASTE/RECYCLABLES OUT AFTER 4 PM ON THE NIGHT BEFORE PICKUP, OR BEFORE 6 AM ON YOUR COLLECTION DAY. Household Waste/Recyclable should be placed curbside, not in gutters or on sidewalks.
HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTIN DAY: Will be announced. Household Hazardous Waste includes virtually all of the chemical products used by homeowners, oil based paint, solvents, stains, pesticides, fertilizers, pool chemicals, kerosene, driveway sealers and automotive products are by a partial listing.
